Jill Ferguson, a Line 3 water protector who stood trial last week in Clearwater County, was convicted by a jury of misdemeanor obstruction for her role in a July 2021 protest action. Ferguson, who was represented by CDP’s Kira Kelley, sustained injuries during the arrest when a sheriff’s deputy used “pain compliance” techniques on her.
